I propose the Finance section of Projects switch from an annual revenue input method to a monthly input method.
Our company has several projects that have set monthly revenue amounts (invoice for monthly subscription, monthly contracts, etc.) or have costs that span across several months. However, the Business Case/Finance tabs on the project are only able to associate revenue and expense amounts with a single date.
For forecasting and revenue planning purposes, our finance team needs to see revenue and expenses for each month. However, there currently is not a way for me to be able to tell Workfront "This project has a monthly revenue/invoice amount of $1K for a $12K total annual revenue." Right now, our team either has to input the total revenue (Ex: $12K) showing at the end of the year, or make 12 individual separate projects, with a Planned Benefit of $1K for each.
I propose that there be a separate tab/fields in the Finance or Business case where Revenue and Expense amounts can be entered for each month of the year. Ideally, the date field could be manipulated to choose actual invoicing dates.
This would make monthly forecasting reporting much easier and reduce the overall number of open projects throughout the company.
