I want to be able to set a default View/Filter/Grouping from Layout Template

This will allow to better setup user interface through the Layout Template and will ensure that the users have all they need to start working right away.

Currently I'm forced to Log In As each user and set the view/filter/grouping for them which is a lot of manual work.

Hello! Just wanted to drop a quick note letting you know that this is still on track. We plan to start enabling this feature on the Preview environment in the next month or so.

At the same time reading through comments, I have an impression that there may be some confusion around what this feature is intended to solve, so I wanted to provide some overview and clarity.

This capability will enable administrators to customize the default filters, views, and groupings for their end-users via Layout Templates. That is aimed to dramatically improve the out-of-box user experience. Previously, the common pattern example has been for administrators to log in as users and manually switch their filters from "All" to something more relevant.

From reading the comments, my impression is that some people expect to have filters, views, and groupings on a per-object basis. That is indeed a great but different idea, which you can upvote and follow here.

I hope this helps and please continue sharing your use cases in the thread below.

Stay tuned for more updates!
