I want to be able to edit my comments

Everyone can make a mistake... as well as users who post updates. If I misspelled something, or want to change something in my comment I should be able to do so.

I voted. I also agree that edits would need to be tracked or done immediately so that someone doesn't fully change the update/comment.

I would also want the edit to include the ability to add additional tags. We often forget to tag users before hitting submit.

Thank you for this idea. We have added the feature to edit comments to the roadmap to release within the next 12 months. This functionality will also note the edit with a date and time for those with regulated environments.

Thank you,

Agreed Matt. So if an update is edited to include (for example) one extra person, I would expect that update to be sent to the newly added person (and not again to all the other people). Should be easy to work that out as the update field and the notify field are separate.

^ edit: I like Andrew's comment above too. Perhaps email notifications on updates have a slight lag, to enable that "woops" editing of the update straight after.

Hello! Although this idea is taking longer than expected to be implemented, we are still planning on making this much needed improvement to Update Stream. We expect to be able to introduce this within the first half of 2020. We are sorry for the delay and appreciate your patience!

PM Update: We are working on some performance improvements to Update Stream currently and I'm afraid editing will not be introduced until much later, likely Q4. I would like to ask for feedback about our current plan for the first iteration of 'editing' comments. In reality, this is planned to be more of an "undo" similar to when you send an email in Gmail. Once you submit your update, you will have a short window (likely about 10 seconds) in which to Undo the message. Once you select Undo you can take what time you need to edit content or recipients of your draft message and resubmit. We believe this will catch the majority of the "oops, there's a typo" or "I forgot to add Jim" scenarios.

It is not as robust of a solution that would require a history or audit trail, but it would allow us to plan this feature on our 2020 roadmap. What are your thoughts? Would this "Undo" feature be useful to your organizations?

Anything to help with when you make a mistake is fine by me. It would be nice to have edit by creator that lasts though. Thanks!

I think the majority of my "wish I could edit my update" moments are within the first 10 seconds as I read back over what I just said, so I think it's a viable solution, personally. :)
