Exportable list of all data fields that can be reported on

Description - As a System Administrator, there isn't any location where I can see the entire list of data fields that are available and can be reported on within Workfront. (currently, I can only see a list of the custom form fields that I create via Main Menu > Set Up > Custom Forms -- then scrolling to the Fields list

Why this feature is important - Administrators should have a single location where they can assess everything that can possibly be reported on within the system. Today, the only way that an Admin can find this information is by creating a project/task/issue/etc. report and scrolling through all of the available options to add as a column.

In addition, the "custom form fields" info allows me to see a list of all the reports where I use certain custom form fields--it would be a huge benefit to see this information for the "native" Workfront fields.

How the feature could work - Adding an additional section within the "Setup" screen where there would be a list of Reportable Data (similar how you can see all of the available filters)

Current Behavior - It doesn't exist.

Hi there, not sure I understand the Idea - if you want to export all your active fields, are you you're not referencing the fields > select all > export function?

hi @Madalyn_Destafney -

I'm trying to export a list of all of the native Workfront fields (all fields that are built into Workfront and can be reported on -- for instance "Actual Start Date", "Actual Completion Date", "Planned Start Date", etc.)

Unlike the fields I self-created (and show up in that Custom Forms > Fields area), there isn't a place where I can see these "out of the box" fields and how I utilize these within the system (such as what reports they're used on).

Essentially, I'm looking for a similar tab like this Custom Forms > Fields, but for Reportable Fields > Workfront Fields

Ah. I think the term 'reportable' confused me because you can include any custom form field in reports/can report on custom form fields. It is odd that native fields, like project owner, are not in the list of custom form fields.

@Madalyn_Destafney - no problem! Yes, I agree that it's really odd that native Workfront fields don't display anywhere in a fulsome list. I'd love to see where, when and how frequently I use some of these fields (and perhaps even uncover some that I haven't used that could be useful--especially for reporting purposes!)

Thanks for taking the time to review my suggestion and comment!

Hi @BlakeCo,

I can offer a couple of existing ways to take inventory of built in fields and/or custom parameters that might help by inviting you to consider our Report All Report Details solution and/or our Report Categories and Parameters solution.

Regards,

Doug
