Enable Users to Customize "In-App" Notifications (Like Email Notifications)

Our users' in-app notifications are now so plentiful that they are essentially useless. It would be great if the users were able to turn selected in-app notifications "on" or "off" in their User Settings; ideally, the interface would be modeled on the one that is already in place for customizing Email Notifications.

(Frankly, I was surprised to find that we can only customize the Email Notifications, and not the corresponding in-app ones...)

Agree with the above. All of our users are complaining about the new feature as they are receiving so many in-app notifications that are not relevant to them. It's causing confusion and frustration, so would be great to be able to customize in app notifications.

We are having the same frustrations Dave Bryan describes. Our templates are set up for certain tasks to be assigned to teams and then they reassign to the individual users. The additional notifications are cluttering their streams and it is difficult to find the legit items that require attention.

Having notifications at the Admin level is good. However, we find that some are too broad to use on our entire site; therefore, we have a lot of them turned off. There are a lot of projects, etc. that don't really warrant notifications, while at the same time there are critical projects that require notifications or even customized notifications. It would be a nice it notifications could be further controlled at the project level. It could help reduce notification traffic from select projects.

Agree! My users are getting too many notifications that are not actionable by them. The few actionable notifications are getting lost in the mix. AND I keep getting users complaining about all the notifications, especially the team work request. Apparently, this was not being blasted out to all team users until earlier this year - so everyone assumes I have some control over this.

Please provide an opt-out ability, like we have with Email notifications.

Agree with the above. All of our users are complaining about receiving so many in-app notifications that are not relevant to them. We really need a way to customize in app notifications.

If we as Admins could also create custom emails notifications that included data from a custom form. Example: if the business submits a request which uses a custom form; when the notification email is sent; it should be able to include data collected from the custom form.

For our designers, having the ability to turn off in-app proof comment notifications is crucial. We are having situations where users are getting 50+, 100+ in-app notifications on proofs that they own for catalogs and it's making it very, very difficult for them to react to other notifications that require action. Especially since the proof comments are coming at them for each of the proofs they own and have in process (10+ projects per designer varying in size from a single page to 180+ pages).

This has also caused notifications to be useless since we now also receive a notification every time a proof comment is made thus burying other important notifications. I also agree this should be customizable at the Admin level so the team doesn't just shut them off. Please allow us to customize 'in app' notifications! Thanks,

OMG PLEASE. We've nearly had a revolt among our copy editors. Getting an e-mail for every resolved comment has been maddening. The only thing we've been able to do is basically shut off most notifications, save when a proof is generated and when someone is mentioned via @-mentions.

Upvoted and encouraging others to do the same.
