Enable filter before initial data load on Resource Planner (to resolve performance slowness)

The new resource planner functionality defaults to loading all projects a person has access to see (assuming all the new resource planning prerequisites are met). For large organizations like ours, that means a capacity planner could have 800+ projects to oversee. In attempting to load that much data on screen today in production, we found that the Resource Planner tab it churns and churns (5+ minutes of churning) just in its attempt to load that data. When I am only listed as resource planne on a small # of projects, it loads reasonably well.

SO --- If it is the case that the resource planner was not built to handle 800+ projects on initial screen load, I propose that Workfront implements a change to make it so that the initial screen loads to a filter panel so that we can apply filters first before running the planner.

The alternative will be that we have to add/remove ourselves to the projects we want to manage at any given time - and that feels like an administrative nightmare.

Agree it takes too long to load - would be great to have the OPTION (not required, like it is in the Utilization report) to apply a filter before loading. Filter for our organization would need to start at Group level, and go down from there (Portfolio, Program etc). The required filter on the Utilization report starts at portfolio which does us no good - we'd want to see utilization at a higher level (Group).

Also the User view in the new Res Planner still doesn't work. It shows no planned hours for user and doesn't include all the projects the user is on (even when the project and user resource pool match). We have logged this bug with Support.

Yes!!! This is way too slow and inhibits our ability to use it effectively.

Please make is so you can filter by less tasks... like those with only hours planned during the time period or by tasks due during that time period.

Please.
