Email notifications tailored to specific projects

I would very much like to be able to suppress / turn off email notification of updates on a project by project basis. I'm getting inundated with email notifications from an entire community of users whom I support. I finally removed myself as project owner, as an interim solution, but we feel that a member of our corporate Workfront support team should be either an owner or sponsor of the project.
