Document counter to reflect actual number of documents on the project

Adobe development team made a recent update to the documents tab, where the document counter on the Project level is now counting folders and assets on the root level only. Prior to this update, the counter reflected the number of actual documents. Our users found this update counter-intuitive. The “Document count” is no longer actually advising on how many documents there are. And we don’t see any value in knowing how many empty folders there are. We would like Adobe to revert this update back to its original behavior.

I have submitted a ticket with support on this also.

I don't see anything about this in the release notes.  Was this intentional or a bug?

Our users noticed this change and I opened a support case for it. That's when I was told the change was put in recently by development team, to improve performance.

It looks like the change has been reverted and the counter reflects the number of actual documents now!
