Date field on custom form to have an option to choose span of dates

It would be awesome to have an option for the custom Date field to be able to put in a span of dates
Example: we'll use the date field to ask when the event is, but they can only put 1 day in, but the event might run over several days.

Description - opportunity to create a new custom date field, that only has a month and year, not a specific day of the month

Why is this feature important to you - we do our reporting by month, and having to select a day of the month skus our data and adds a bit of confusion

How would you like the feature to work - exact same as our current date features, but updated to only include month and year

Current Behaviour - we do not have the ability to customize to only keep month and year. as a result i created a custom text box for users to manually type a month and year. this works, but it is very manual and inconsistent
