[CLOSED] - Alerts to Project Owner when Time Off Calendar entry impacts tasks

This post has been closed as a duplicate. All votes have been moved to the original: NOTIFICATION WHEN RESOURCE IS SCHEDULED FOR TIME OFF

We encourage our staff to use the time off calendar because it will help our tasks/projects be more accurate but there are 2 issues with the calendar:

1. There is no notice to the Project Owner. As the PM, I think my project is fine until one of my task assignees takes off an extended time. The assignee updates the calendar, which pushes out my project - but I "never" get a notice or alert!

2. As the admin, I have fielded many calls from PM's who cannot figure out why the "system" is not calculating the dates correctly. The PM has already spent a great deal of time trying to determine what is going on. Often I find it is caused by the Time Off Calendar --- the assignee is not in the office during the planned task completion time, so the planned completion date is pushed out.

Hi Marie! I just found this idea to vote on and I wondered why I was only the 2nd vote...?? It seems like this is a popular request - hopefully the missing votes can be found.

Hi Marie and Sheri,

We had identified this as a duplicate idea of https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115001222987-Notification-When-Resource-is-Sc...

We merged this idea to the linked idea above and all of the votes moved successfully. However, the expected "[CLOSED] as this idea was merged" text was not added.

We will resolve this now. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Thank you Josh - I appreciate you letting us know that the votes were moved. In the future, when votes are moved, could Workfront add a comment to each of the issues logged letting us know. This will help us in a few ways: 1) It will provide us a history of what occurred, 2) We will know why an item has no votes and 3) It will allow us to then follow the new issue where you placed the votes.

I did check the one where the votes were moved to - it has 123 votes but is still listed as not planned. That's discouraging that so many of us are requesting something, it's over the threshold & it's still not planned.

Yes, we have been updating the main idea comment with the duplicate information but we can also add a comment. Thanks for the feedback to make sure we are communicating the correct information.
