Change graphic in a Task for 'This task is waiting on'

Within a task, the predecessor task is listed with a green bullet next to it, but the next task 'Tasks waiting on this' is also listed with a green bullet next to it. If the predecessor task is actually complete, have the bullet show as red or something other than having both show as green bullets.

Use Case
Going into a task from an email or My Work, user cannot tell if the previous task is complete because the graphic showing 'This task is waiting on' is a green dot, the same as the 'Tasks waiting on this'. The graphic should be color coded according to task status.

We have issues with team members not beginning their tasks for this very reason. Could "This task is waiting on" be changed to "This task follows" and use the red dot if that task is complete?

Cengage is having a big issue with this. Can we please change the label/graphic on this so users who receive the notification that their task can start arent confused when they see this?

Causing confusion for our users as well. They get the task, but when they pull it up and see "This task is waiting on" along with a green dot, they think, "Oh wait, it looks like this task is still waiting on the predecessor to complete" and delay working on the task. I think the simplest fix would be dropping the words "waiting on", since they imply status when in fact the information provided is static. Just change it to "Predecessor Task" and "Dependent Task" and drop the colored dot.

Agree with everyone above. If there is no way for these labels to change based on the actual status of predecessor or dependent tasks, simply changing the static labels to something that makes sense would go a long way. My team is having a tough time swallowing this quirk, since a) it's confusing, and b) it seems like an error.
