Description - Be able to forecast projects without having to actually add the project and add users to it and then possibly having to delete everything
Why is this feature important to you – Want to be able to add projects or requests, assign them to users and then see how that would affect the resource balancing and affect other projects they are working on.
How would you like the feature to work – The ability to add project and assign resources without it automatically saving. We could do some forecasting on resources and see how a new high priority project would affect other projects without having emails sent to users and then once we get our data we can decide to either save it or not.
Current Behavior – The ability to enter in a project and assign users to tasks/requests without having it save automatically and not send out notifications to the assigned users as we just want to see how this new project would affect resources and affect other projects. We have to add the project, assign resources, look at resource balancing, planner. Get all the reports and then go in and delete the project as we just need to do this to get information to the stakeholder so they can decide if they want to move forward or not.

Hi @ShawnFl,

We solved the requirement you've described by adding our Soft Booking solution to our Capacity Chart ADVANCED solution, which (paraphrasing) lets you tentatively assign the desired person against a Task (via a special Task-level “Softbook Field” typeahead user parameter) so that the invariable over-bookings can be visualized when reviewing our Capacity Charts and you can then prioritize and adjust as needed to then make the “real” assignments. This link will take you right to the Softbook portion of our demo video, and I'd be happy to chat further via doug.denhoed@atappstore.com.

Regards,

Doug
