Allow for admin level organization of Report Folders

Currently, WF administrators have no way of establishing an organization level structure for reports. Only individual users can specify their own organizational structure for reports. There are TOO many reports for individual users to know what is or isn't important unless specifically told to favorite specific reports.


It would save a lot of everyone's time if administrators had the ability to organize reports into shareable folders to groups of users or an entire instance.


True you can circumvent the need by putting specific reports on dashboards, but that's not the issue at hand. This targets making reporting for accessible.

Tthis feature is well over due.  The ability to create report folders really helps organize them but is rendred useless if they aren't shareable.

This idea is currently being investigated by the Workfront Product Management team. An official response will be provided by the end of May. Thanks for your patience!

We are not planning any changes to the report folder structures at this time.

In the future we do plan to implement a tagging capability for Canvas Dashboards dashboards. We need to perform additional research to evaluate the approach and if it will meet the long term need for organizing reporting and dashboard content.

Thank you all for providing input on how report folders can be improved. While we have no current plans to update the report folders options, the input you have provided will help shape the solution we plan to provide a complementary capability in the new Canvas Dashboards reporting surface.

We have no current plans to enhance report folders at this time.

We understand the value that an admin-controlled folder structure or tagging capability would provide. And our intent is to apply the lesson learned around how report folders are not working for you, and to incorporate this and other feedback, as we evaluate what a tagging capability needs to include in the new Canvas Dashboards reporting surface that we are actively building.
