Allow fields to have different default selections based on the custom form

It would be helpful if we have a field used on multiple custom forms to allow a default selection depending on what form the field is on.

Currently, if you select a default selection on a field that selection is applied on every form that field is used on. I'm not requesting to remove that feature. I'm asking for another option to allow the selection to change based on the form the field is on.

Example:

We have a publication type field on multiple request forms. It would save users time if default selections could be made for this field based on the form because it is primarily used for reporting purposes.
