I want to base my Agile board solely on assigned Story Points, not on planned hours.

Yes! Agile should not be related to planned hours. I'd at least want the option to toggle this. This is a huge pain point for me every sprint and I have to put fake hours on my stories so that the points show up correctly. Otherwise the points get altered. On that note, points should never dynamically change. Points are an estimate and aren't intended to be re-estimated. This should be manual update only.

Hear! Hear!

The words Story Points and Hours should never be used in the same sentence. Except if confirming that the two have no relationship to each other.

I also agree that effort on tasks in a story should NOT roll up and change the story points

In case it isn’t obvious they do allow points to be counted as x hours but since Agile was an add on to Workfront instead of a core feature they are not faithful to the principles of Agile Development

I would love to see this option. Our company is religious about the concept that story points equals level of effort, not time. That way, as you get more efficient delivering that level of effort, you have a consistent means of measuring velocity. There's no way to measure improvements if your # of hours decreases due to efficiency while the level of effort remains the same.
