Ability to modify a Custom tab, without having to delete & re-create

Currently if we want to modify the the name of a global custom tab, we have to delete it & recreate - which is not efficient. Especially, when we may have to do this to multiple lay outs.

Thank you for logging this! This is a big pain point today just to change the name of a tab!

Agreed - plus there's no easy way to see what dashboard (name/label) you're using to create that custom tab. Definitely need a way to quickly edit custom tabs.

I thought it was just me and I've been meaning to contact Support about it...so it seriously is this clunky, wow.

I agree we need:

  1. Ability to rename the tab.
  2. Ability to see what dashboard is attached to the tab.
  3. Ability to edit the dashboard attached to the tab in-place. I.e., change the dashboard attached to the tab without removing the tab itself first.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for upvoting this idea and sharing your use cases.

Before dispositioning this, I wanted to learn a bit more. I'm curious if your use cases are mainly about editing custom tabs in Layout Templates or as an "end-user" in the left panel (secondary) navigation?

Thank you,

Hi Gevorg, from my perspective its both: when modifying layout template and being an end user trying to change something

Need both abilities here too.

For a seemingly easy UX win, it's disappointing this has been back-burnered. :-(

Pins are more than a bit annoying for Admins and users alike without this QoL adjustment.
