Ability to bulk change the owner of calendar or report after Admin leaves

It would be nice to have the ability to bulk change the owner of a report or calendar instead of having to make a copy so it will rename who owns it. We just had our main system admin leave who set up the system years ago and having a bulk feature to remove her name and add another Admin would be so beneficial.

Currently our reports are a mess because a vast majority of them were created by an admin that is no longer with our company. We would love to reorganize them into meaningful folders, but we cannot do so w/o doing one of the following:

1.) reactivating him (not an option)

2.) rebuilding all of the reports as a current admin

3.) creating an 'admin' account and building under that account (also not a viable option)

Therefore, please consider making either changing a report owner an option or allow reorganization of reports built by a deactivated user.

For me it would be a great if it is possible to change the report owner from an inactive one to an active one. We have a few reports created by someone who is not working at the company anymore. I would like to become the owner of these projects but at the moment that's not possible.

Hi Workfront,

it's crazy that there isn't an easy way to change the owner of report.

Please can you look into this

Thanks

Overview

Sometimes when a user leaves an organization, another user may request to be made a Report Owner of the former user's Reports. This works in much the same way that changing the owner of a Workfront Calendar does.

Details

  1. Have the user who would like to be the Report Owner login to Workfront.
  2. Navigate to the Report that they would like to own
  3. On the report Select Report Actions
  4. Then select Copy. A copy of the report will be created.
  5. The user will then own the copied version of the Report
  6. The new owner will need to reshare the Report with whoever existed on the original as the Sharing setting are not copied over to the new Report.
  7. At this point, the user can then delete the original report if desired.

This is a HUGE NEED as we limit who has the ability to build a report and admins are constantly building reports for specific users. Also would love to be able to move ownership once the person is no longer within that group

This would be very helpful for us. We have an integrated practice, with links in documentation, so making a copy is not a viable option for us unless we want to update multiple links in multiple documents for each report.

Yes, this is needed. It also causes extra work when templates are assigned to a large group of users. At times, Execs only want to see reports and when new ownership you have to log in as each executive to update report tab with new. URLs change.

6a. Update any dashboard that used the original report to point to the copied report.
6b. Re-Enter any Repeating Deliveries used on the original report

Yes, please! We have this same need. Additionally we often need to change the report owner from an active user to another active user. For example, an admin creates the report and then a SME maintains it.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for upvoting this idea!

However, I'm marking this as "Not Planned", as it is not on our roadmap for the coming 12 months.

Thanks,
