Ability to batch update commit dates

We'd like the ability to batch update commit dates either from within the project plan itself or reporting. It is understood that the assignee is the only user able to update a commit date, but that could be built into the batch update. We have thousands of tasks assigned to vendor colleagues who have accounts within our instance, and they need the ability to batch update commit dates.
