Add Workflow Proof Recipient

Has anyone been successful in adding a recipient to a proof via the API when the proof uses an automated workflow?  I can add a recipient to a proof using the API but it creates a new stage.  I need to be able to add them to a specific stage on the proof.

I think you'll need to modify the stage and pass an updated reviewers array
