Task Hour Report - duplicate hours

I ran a task hour report, but it’s pulling duplicate task entries. When I use the matrix to sum the hours by job role, the results are skewed.  It seems that if someone logs time more than once on the same task, the report isn’t showing each time entry individually. Instead, it’s summing the hours first and then applying that sum to each duplicate entry, which inflates the totals.

 

Has anyone experienced this issue? Is there a way to configure the report so that each time entry on a task is shown separately instead of using a summed value?

It not very clear from your post but it seems to me like you want to see time entry by day for each role / task.  To do so, you need to add Entry Date to the groupings. Id look like this.

Hi - my report looks like this, and I am not looking for the entry date because in most cases, it is on the same day the workers logged time more than once on the same task.

The report isn’t showing each time entry individually. Instead, it’s summing the hours first and then applying that sum to each duplicate entry, which inflates the totals.

Using the job role of designer above shows 29.75 actual hours, that's not correct.  The details of the report show duplicate rows of 6 hours for the same task

 

But he only logged 6 - his actual design hours are inflated by 12 hours.

I am guessing to has to do with the sum function but I am not sure how to only 1 value.
