🎶 If you missed my Adobe Workfront Skill Exchange session at Adobe Summit last week, "Project Management and System Admin Best Practices 'Through the Eras'," you're in for a treat! My amazing colleague, Elysia Huntington, and I took the stage to share insights from two perspectives: the system admin's and the power user's. We took you on a Swiftie-themed journey through Qualcomm's ‘Eras’ of workflow transformation. Here are 5 key takeaways from the session from a system admin perspective to avoid any "Bad Blood" with your teams:

1.   ✍🏻 "But I've got a 'Blank Space' baby and I'll write your name..."
When setting up a blank instance, start strong! Utilize features like calculated fields on user custom forms, customize fiscal years if your org works with them, and create custom statuses and access levels. These steps will set the foundation for a smooth and organized system.

2.  💄 “Cause we’re never going out of style”
Legal, brand, and creative teams have unique requirements but also want a visually appealing experience. Use layout templates, conditional formatting, and calendars that sync automatically with projects and requests. Configuring request queues on boards can also make their lives easier and keep everything stylish and functional.

3.   😱 "Who’s afraid of little old me?"
Establishing governance and guardrails is crucial, but it doesn't have to be scary! Set up tiger team leads, send out a monthly newsletter, create a resource documentation center for best practices, and establish universal form criteria for unified departmental reporting. These steps will ensure everyone feels supported and informed.

4.    📑  "I knew you were trouble when you walked in..."
Managing user audits is essential for security. Set up reports upfront to track last login dates. This will help with internal auditing processes and keep your IT, Security and Compliance teams happy and trouble-free.

5.  💫  "Even if it’s just in your wildest dreams"
These key principles do not have to be just a dream! The tips we shared are very attainable and can be implemented in your organization right away. Take these steps back to your team and watch your project management and system admin processes transform.
