Opt-Out Link Warning in AJO Email: CJMMAS-2001-200

Avatar

Hi Community,

I’m working on an email in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) and I keep getting the following warning when validating the message:

{
  "type": "https://ns.adobe.com/aep/errors/CJMMAS-2001-200",
  "title": "The opt-out link is not present in the email body.",
  "status": 200,
  "report": {
    "additionalContext": {
      "errorLevel": "WARNING",
      "variantId": "7cc39f90-7b4b-4e40-957b-fdd9bdda767d",
      "variantName": "default",
      "source": "MESSAGE",
      "channel": "email"
    }
  }
}

I understand this is Warning only (status 200), not a hard error, but I would like to know:

  1. How can I ensure the opt-out link is fully recognized by AJO and remove this warning?

  2. I am currently using this opt-out link in my footer:

<p style="text-align:center;">
  <a class="arc-link"
     data-nl-type="unsubscription"
     href="https://example.com/unsubscribe"
     style="color:rgb(150,156,170); text-decoration:underline;">
    Click here to unsubscribe from further email communications
  </a>
</p>

Is there something I’m missing in how AJO detects the opt-out link?
Any guidance on the correct syntax or other best practices to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Sai,

your code is missing  data-tracking-type="OPT_OUT". If not mentioned, Adobe will consider there is no opt-out link in the email but it's only a warning and not a blocker.

As your opt-out is handled outside AJO, you can select External Opt-out

Hi @RS195

You are completely good here.

Adobe can't check the opt-out feature if you use an external link or any landing page that goes outside of Adobe Eco System.

Yes, I'm also noticing this because of multiple reasons, specially if you use manual or any third party link for managing consent. Now, I'm not caring this too much!

Adobe  can't evaluate if your opt-out link works or not if the user re-directed to a landing page of One-Trust or third party consent management.

its an automated alert by evaluating your code. Similar discussions already made in many places, refer the below link as well.

I think Adobe should bring a feature to ignore these warning or remove or accept to make sure its not telling us something wrong 🙂
