News Pages creation from Word

Hello Team ,

I have a requirement to create new "News Articles" (News Pages with only Images & Text assembled via 2/3 layouts) on AEM.  The content would be provided by the marketing team in Word. Currently the content Authors copy paste the data from word to create the pages.

Is there a way to do the above activity programmatically ?

  1. Currently we have AEM managed service 6.5 Document based Edge
  2. Is DITA the only way to achieve this ? If yes do we have any documentation for a step-by-step guide to implement the above functionality.

Thanks

Harish

Hi Harish,

AEM Guides supports this use case. You don’t need to manually copy-paste content from Word. Using the Word-to-DITA transformation framework in AEM Guides, you can convert Word documents into DITA type documents and then publish them to AEM pages using AEM Sites publishing.

Here’s a step-by-step guide for Word to DITA conversion: Word to DITA Transformation in AEM Guides
Hope this helps!
