Is there any limitation of having topic references in a DITAMAP

The DITAMAP loads the topic references in the DITAMAP dashboard very slowly, sometimes it hangs when there are a lot of topic references.

We have segregated by creating smaller DITAMAP's and referencing those into the parent DITAMAP, but still, some of the content has a lot of articles where it fails to load the topic references and hangs frequently.

Is there any recommendation on how many topic references can a ditamap have? Also, is there any recommended limitation to generating a website with such huge content or creating pages at individual ditamap's is a better suggestion?

    What is the version of AEM and XML Documentation in use?

    How many assets/topics are part of the ditamap in reference?

     

    There is no limitation as such on the number of topic references. We may need more details on the content side.

    Hi @divrajsingh , thank you for the response. There are around 17k topic references in a single DITAMAP, and we have similar other ditamaps with almost more than 10k references.

     

    Below are the versions we are using:

    AEM Version: 6.5.7
    XML Documentation version: 3.6.170

    17k topics should not be a concern as such.

    I recommend this to be reported to support, as this will need more inputs on server performance and insights into the logs.
