We are not seeing any way to enter notes about new versions of images in the repository. Is there no way to track version changes to images and other non-DITA assets?

@sschnelbach : how are you creating version of the images/non-dita assets?
In assets UI > if you select asset and use "Create" to create new version then you get option to add comment and label. And you can then see those in the version history of those assets.
Are you referring to another user flow where you expect this?

Yes, when I click "Create," a new version is created and I have the option to add a comment, but the "new" version is created from the existing image file and the system never asks me for the new image file.
When we typically update an existing image, we drag/drop into the AEM folder and have to ensure the file name is the same, then select that we want a new version created. The new version is created with the new image file, but there is no option to add a version comment at that time.
It sounds like the only way to accomplish the new version comment with a new image file would be to drag/drop the new image file into the repository, select NOT to create a new saved version (which only creates a new working version), THEN click "Create" to create the new version from the dirty version/working copy and add the comments then. Is that the expected behavior?

@sschnelbach that sounds correct with current available options
Adding comment is not available when uploading/overriding the non-dita file. Though you can add a label to the newly created version later as well (you must be aware of this already)
