What is the best way to track time for an in-house communication team?

Our in-house Marketing team is wanting to track time but have questions on how we efficiently have our internal communications team track. They are turning communications in 1-2 hours and are currently not entering them as projects into Workfront and they would prefer not to place every communication plan in the system. We need to be able to see the capacity of this team. I would love to hear how other organizations are collecting capacity of their internal communication teams. Thanks, Jess
