Unable to repair or uninstall AEM. Error 1722 Missing FileSystemBrowser.dll

Avatar

Level 1

Hello.  I am unable to repair or uninstall AEM from my machine after neglecting to enter the license key when installing.

 I get the following error:

LisaTh3_0-1740587107234.png

I have tried reregistering the dll. I took a copy of the dll from machine where AEM is known to be working.

I used the Cleanup tool offered in other solutions I found on this site.

Anyone have solution for this issue?

Hello @LisaTh3

With error 1722, the Designer installation is in an inconsistent state, so it's better to uninstall and then reinstall the software.

Make sure you have installed the 2010 VC runtime 32-bit latest update (Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable package x86), 2012 and 2013 VC runtimes (32-bit)

Open CMD in Administrator mode and run the following commands:
1. C:\Windows\SysWOW64>regsvr32.exe " C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe Experience Manager forms Workbench\Designer\FileSystemBrowser.dll"
2. C:\Windows\SysWOW64>regsvr32.exe " C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe Experience Manager forms Workbench\Designer\ImageFileBrowserIDL.dll"

Uninstall Designer now.
Once uninstalled, you can reinstall the Designer software.

If you still have issues, you can raise a support ticket and DM the ticket number. We can then get on a call to discuss them further.
