Adding a DAM image or External image path in Single field.

Hi,

I just started with AEM and just have a doubt.

Can a Single field in a dialog be configured for background image to take images of DAM (or) External image Links?

For this i am extending from core - cq/gui/components/coral/common/form/pagefield

Above image shows the field that takes DAM images. with in the same field i need to accept any of DAM resource or External image link.

Can I find any sources to refer (or) Is the scenario possible?
