Java Script - Content Block

Avatar

Level 4

Hello All!

I'm working on a project to place content into our email using java script and content blocks.

I created the content block with the script and place the <script> in the head of my email.

When I test it with both the "send test" and actual sending of the email to myself the email is blank.

The content block loads in the deployment screen. It does not load in the preview screen when you are in the editor.

Can some one help? I might be setting up the content block wrong.

Hi Derek,

The short answer is that you can’t use a JavaScript content block in Adobe Campaign Standard in the way you might expect from a web app. Content blocks in ACS are server‑side reusable fragments (HTML + personalization/conditions). At send time, ACS resolves all personalization and blocks into static HTML, and that output is what gets delivered to the email client. Any script tags that you embed are simply part of the HTML; whether they run or not is up to the mail client, and almost all modern email clients block or strip JavaScript entirely for security reasons.

Best regards,
Craig
