How to restrict targeted audience in email deliveries in ACS?

Hi Team,

 

Can we restrict delivery amounts for the specific user group with typology rules? Maybe maximum 50k deliveries at once. 

We have a business case where we need to restrict the certain amount of targets (ex.50k in one go) while doing email delivery execution. Can we do that using typology rules? 

 

Let me know if anyone has implemented this?

Depending on your exact use case, if you are trying to just take a random sample or restrict the sending size at a single go, then you could just the a workflow with the segmentation activity (see below), which gives you the option to restrict the target to the delivery the delivery.

Thanks for the solution! 

 

But, can we do it with the help of Typology? Is there any way we can implement without using workflow? Like applying restriction on email delivery or email delivery template or with the help of typology can we control this?

Hi @sachinc92185943 ,

We have different types of typology rules such as Filtering, Fatigue and Control rules
In Control rules we can able to check for delivery size, like, 'To deliver target count' is less than 50k or not, and you can make warning or Error alert if the record is greater than 50K.
So if incoming target is 60K, this rule will give you warning or Error Alert (as per configuration), But it won't be limiting the count to 50k and send delivery to 50K alone.
 
To Achieve this, As mentioned by craigthonis, you can set up a deduplication activity and deduplicate the target based on Email, and followed by a segmentation activity.
 
In Segmentation activity, go to Limitation tab > select type of limit as random or ordered sampling based on your requirement > Now specify the size Limit of the segment, Maximum size equal to 50K
