Hi Anumol,

Please try using below in the SMS delivery .

Enable Activate tracking and it should track the links.

Hi Anitha,

Thank you for the help.  When I give tracking even though the tracking works the type of tracking is showing as "Email Click" Also when I get sms the URL is getting appended with Mid sourcing server name and the actual URL name is getting replaced with some codes.

When I remove tracking I get the URL correctly in the sms.  Is there any solution for this ?

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Anumol, Could you help our community members understand the issue a bit more by sharing screenshots of what you mention? Thanks, Pablo Rosero

Hi Pablo,

The issue here is

1. Created an SMS delivery with Tracking enabled

2. When we receive the SMS the link in the sms comes with all mid sourcing sever details , please  find the screen shot. Even though the URL gets tracked we do not want the additional details to come in the SMS. Here  the actual URL  was https://google.com

Hi Anumol,

If we are enabling tracking in a delivery, Adobe campaign modifies the url to a tracking server url. On clicking on this, you will be redirected to the original url. The reason for this is : the tracking url contains the identifier for the broadLog (recipient+delivery) in the id attribute. When this link is clicked, the Adobe campaign tracking server captures the event and stores it against the broadlog and then redirects to the original url. You can see the same behavior in emails too. Hence, you cannot avoid this if you want to track the link click in campaign. You can use Analytics for this purpose.

Furthermore, the tracking url will increase the length of the character count and may exceed the 160 character limit for 1 SMS.

Thanks,

Hi Subhajit,

Thank you for the reply.  For email also  the links comes, but the URL that gets displayed in email is the original one and and if we hover on the link we can see the actual link from AC with all the other details. So was wondering if email can work that way is there any way we can see the original url in SMS as well hiding the long URL from AC.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Anumol,

This is because emails use HTMLs and SMS texts. So in email a HTML can be defined as

<a href="https://www.google.com">https://www.google.com</a> OR <a href="https://www.google.com">Click Here</a> . So when the email is viewed we see "https://www.google.com" or "Click Here", but the when hovered will show the AC tracking link.

Since HTMLs are not possible in SMS, we cannot achieve this.

Thanks,

Subhajit
