Hello I'm noticing many service / transactional email addresses we receive with typos (eg gmial.com, homtail.com etc) are not entering the quarantine table as expected. Please see example recipient delivery log of a customer with domain hotmaill.com:
Instance setup is shown here too:
This is obviously creating IP sending issues as our sender reputation is deteriorating. Is there a setting in config that I need to check? Email Delivery exclusions are always set to exclude blacklisted too.

Thanks for that info - I don't understand why this recipient has not been quarantined then, having failed a lot more than 5 times (as shown in the recipient delivery log)?

Hi @michael299
The email address will set to quarantine after 5 retries if the failure reason is invalid domain.
Based on your screenshot, your failure reason in Unreachable and the text is showing Message queued... hence the failure type is ignore in delivery log qualification.
Here is an example in my instance.
Do you you have deliverability package? If yes, can you check, if the Refresh for deliverability workflow is running and updating the delivery log qualification accordingly?
If you don't have the deliverability package, You can create a daily workflow (as a workaround) to update this bad/invalid domain in the nms address table.
Thanks,
David
