How to turn off delivery retry

Hi All

Is it possible to turn off delivery retry?

We are sending SMS messages using Recurring delivery activity.

The activity's default configuration allows five retries at one-hour intervals, followed by one retry per day for four days.

But we should not send SMS messages 9PM - 8AM.

So we want to turn off delivery retry.

Because soft or Ignored error messages can be sent to our recipients on 9PM - 8AM by retry rule

Thanks

Hi @bhjeong

I do not think ACC has such functionality out of the box but it could be possible if sms vendor can stop sending sms between 9PM - 8AM.

Hi @kuthiala_ananya

I know. ACC has not such functionality out of the box.

So I asked to Customer's sms vendor whether they can do stop sending sms between 9PM - 8AM

but they can't do that.

I will ask to sms vendor again

Thanks.

Hi @bhjeong

you can use a time constraint activity in your workflow to avoid sending during a time period. In screenshot below SMS are sent only between 9 AM - 9 PM.

On top of that you can also modify you delivery properties by setting 0 retry and change the delivery duration to 1 day.

Thanks,

David

Hi @davidkangni

I think. A time constraint activity is not proper for this case.

because retry rule is not affected by the time constraint activity.

I try to modify delivery properties as you told me.

Thanks,

David

Change the Validity to 1 hour . "Validity" is the property in the Delivery

If you change the Validity Limit  property of the Delivery to 0 . Then retry will not happen
