AA Web SDK Datastream Override

I feel about 50% confident on my question, but want some clarity.

I've got a collection of distinctly separate websites with their own dedicated report suites. The datastream setups however would be identical in every respect other than the report suites the data is going to (all suites on same "account").  I've actually already gone through the steps of copying the datastream repeatedly for each site and environment. Realizing this was going to be a nightmare to manage, I started looking at the overrides as a hopeful alternative.

Am I correct thinking that I can create a single datastream with a default report suite that could be anything while adding a list of "white list" report suites I want to send data to?  Then just set the override in each Launch Tag Property's web sdk overrides?  When I "override" the report suite, does that mean data goes only to the report suite I "override" it to, or does it go to the default suite AND the other suite I tell web sdk to override to?

Hi @_paul_s
your assumptions are correct. To recap

  • from what I hear you have different Launch properties. So yes, you can "white list" the report suites on your datastream that you allow to be used in the override, and the set the override in the Web SDK extension configuration
  • the override does not send the data to the original RSID. If needed, you can send data to more than one RSID though by adding them through the "Add Report Suite" button

Hi @_paul_s

Depending on your design, you can also create multiple data stream and use data stream override in Adobe Launch.
