Quiz question 4

A user uploads eVar1="Product A" and event1=1 via generic data source upload. When reviewing the workspace report, eVar1 with Visit and event1, they noticed the visit was not incremented. Why?

  1. User forgot to upload metric data for visits.
  2. File Format was not valid
  3. Data uploaded through data sources do not impact Visits.
  4. Transaction ID was not enabled for the report suite.

The correct answer is likely (3).  Data uploaded through data sources can't update values like Visits. (Generally ones that are session-based).

That's the best answer as to "why?"  That allows you to eliminate (1). and (2), as no file (valid or invalid) with "visits" would work.

Hi all,

Answer to quiz question 4:

Correct Answer: C, Data uploaded through data sources do not impact Page views, Visits, or Unique visitors in any way. The only default metric that they impact includes Occurrences. (https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/import/data-sources/faq)

Thanks Sean for posting some content while I was on vacation.  Just went on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas with my family (9 year old daughter and 5 year old son) and it was magical!
Now I'm back and ready to help ya'll crush this exam!

Could everyone let me know a little about their background in Adobe Analytics?  That'll help me figure out which areas each person might need to focus on.

One tip for everybody:  Take the practice exam, and while you're taking it, screenshot/note any question you're not sure of or got wrong.  Those are the areas you'll want to search Adobe's knowledge base to learn the answer and study those especially.

Practice test:

I also suggest some tried and true test taking practices of making flash cards, etc.

Thanks for your post @Rakeshkumarjuluri .

Everyone else, feel free to post your answer by COB Wed, 8/7. and I'll plan to reveal the answer Thursday, 8/8.

The answer is 3 Cohort Analysis, it groups based on common character over a specified period of time.

Thanks,

Indira.

Level 3

The answer is (3) Cohort Analysis. This really provides insight for a group of users with similar characteristics for behaviors, retention, churn, etc. over time.

The others really do not group users by shared characteristics over time but are useful for seeing points of friction in a sequence (Fallout), navigation/action patterns (Flow) and the difference between different segments/groups of users, but not over time. (segment comparison),

Everyone is correct, the answer is C - Cohort analysis

A cohort is a group of people sharing common characteristics over a specified period. Cohort Analysis is useful, for example, when you want to learn how a cohort engages with a brand. You can easily spot changes in trends, then respond accordingly.

You can find more use case here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/analyze/analysis-workspace/visualizations/cohor...
