Hi,One of my colleague tried installing a package on Shared Author environment (Size was approx 400Mb). The upload was not successful and server went quite funny so we decided to restart the server. However, after that the server isn't starting. We are working on 5.6.1. When i hit the url servername:4502 i get not found but /system/console is coming up fine. How can I reorder Assets, in situation, where there's more than one page of assets? I simply have a folder in DAM, which contains a lot of pdf files and I need to move one Asset from page 5, to page 1. Is there a way to achieve that in DAM console? Or maybe the only solution is to use CRXDE and reorder nodes directly?

Apologies for the long post, having worked on a few 6.0 projects, I had some general questions about the best practice way to work with AEM 6.0. It seems now we have many different ways to create templates and components, but what is the right way?Basic 5.x Development model:Create JSP’s that use JSLT or custom taglibs to interact with OSGi code, and then ExJs framework to create UI’s for the components.Now with the introduction of AEM 6.0 I am not sure any more. Hi,I am using sling internal queuing mechanism and I have set no. of retries to 10. My process fails to retry sometimes after 2nd retry and sometimes after 5th.Job also gets stuck in the event queue and even event node doesn't get deleted.However when I set no. of retries to 5, it completes successfully.Any pointers on this or is there any correct way to set this job parameter specially - "no. of retries".My part of my xml is:<jcr:root xmlns:sling="http://sling.apache.org/jcr/sling/1.0" xmlns:jcr="http://www.jcp.org/jcr/1.0"    jcr:primaryType="sling:OsgiConfig"     projectstatus.job.retries="{String}3" />I am using CQ 5.6.0 and sling event admin version 3.1.4.Regards,Shallu Rohilla

Can i use an OSGi bundle to query the AEM JCR?

As an editor, I would like to be able to paste special characters in text fields within content creators and have those characters replaced with supported versions. In order to get special characters to render cleanly, they need to be copied from Character Map (pc) or Character Palette (mac) and pasted into AEM. This is not a feasible option for editors as it increases their workflow. I need a logic so that special characters are recognized when content is saved and replaced with a supported version. Can somebody please help ASAP?

Hi,   This is my multifield dialog looks like in CQ6. You can see that the "move downward" and "remove" columns are hidden in the page. Hi,I am working on Dockerizing our CQ 5.6 deployment for local development.For local development, we have 1 author instance, 1 publisher instance, 1 author dispatcher, and 1 publisher dispatcher.The author instance is assigned an IP address of 192.168.78.1 and the publisher is assigned an IP address of 192.168.78.2.When I start the instances for the first (and subsequent) time(s), how can I configure them so that they know they should communicate via the given IP addresses rather than localhost?Thanks.

I am battling to find a way of synchronizing site development across multiple developers. What is the best way to synchronize a web site, the nodes and css, html, jsp and other scripting source files, as well as synchronizing the DAM.I have also used the vlt export to try and bring .java files developed in CRXDE into a maven project in eclipse. But all I transfer is the XML files. Regards Clive

I'm looking to customize what happens when you drag and drop a item from the Content Finder onto a Component. It appears that the out of the box behavior is to replace the value configured in cq:dropTarget with the path of the item(s) being dropped. It would be nice to intercept and change this behavior. More specifically I'm trying to get some drag and drop functionality working with the Multi Field Panel from here: http://adobe-consulting-services.github.io/acs-aem-commons/features/widgets.html This stores all the value as JSON objects. I would like to be able to build a JSON entry based on the dropped items.Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,We have modified our Touch UI Editor and have added an extra button in the Page Status area:[img]cuid_Page_Information.png[/img]The image is for CQ 6.0, but we are using CQ 5.6.On the page we are editing, a component is embedded like the following code snippet:<div class="hidden"> <cq:include path="foo" resourceType="..."/> </div>The component, as can be seen, is hidden.If I add a button to the Page Status area, how can I program the button so that clicking it shows the dialog box for the hidden "foo" component?We are already doing this, but the code behind it is so dirty and unreadable and I was wondering if there's a cleaner way available for doing this?Thanks.

Hi,In our deployment, we are using CQ 5.6 to dynamically create web sites. At the moment we have 10-20 web sites, but we expect to hit to 100-1000 sites soon.One issue that has been worrying me is that during activation, sometimes the only agent is stuck and then no changes go through.Is there a way to dynamically/programmatically create one replication agent per web site and activate changes to each site via its own replication agent?If so, could you please provide me with links to relevant documentation, API docs, and code samples?Thanks in advance. 

Hi, in our AEM application we have a poll config used to import a stockquote into our repo. simple.  It is scheduled to trigger each 300 sec. (5 minutes) However, for some reason, the process got stuck, and it stopped importing.  I looked in the log files, I found no trace of an error that could have caused the stoppage.I restarted the scheduler bundle, and it fixed my problem. Data is now coming in.Do you guys have an opinion on what may have caused the scheduler to stop triggering?Thank you.

Hi There ,    I have a servlet which returns me a json and using sling post servlet from a jsp page I post entire json and new nodes gets created in jcr . Now i have a requirement to execute the same behaviour from a workflow . Is there any way where I can execute ,  slingPostServlet from a workflow directly by passing json string ? I know thet i can write a process step which would actually parse json string and using JCR API create nodes programatically . Just want to avoid that overhead and use sling post servlet 

I have a requirement to add dynamically tabs in dialog which will contain different xtypes. So, I have written a listner to add tabs on click of a button(this button seats inside of dialog). Now on click of "ok" button, again another listener will be called which will create node structure in CRX corresponding to newly added tabs info. and it will refresh the page by calling CQ.Util.reload(CQ.WCM.getContentWindow()). Problem- Now again when dialog is opened then I can see the newly added tabs within the dialog in Chrome/Firefox but not in IE. I checked the cache but it seems it does not depends on cache because /dialog.overlay.infinity.json pulls the correct info but IE is unable to display newly added tabs unless I refresh the page manually. Any suggestion is appreciated.

My customer wants content that is placed in DAM in authoring to be activated and moved to publish when it is placed in authoring. They are adding content using the Sling post servlet. They been given the warnings: Each version is saved on publish and changing large files often will cause the repository to grow quickly. Changing the default replication agent to be trigger by changed content does not seem to do the trick. Xavi

Purpose: I want to use Brackets to edit my aem component files(such as XX.jsp), and live deploy and live reload the content page.I installed the Brackets now, so I don't know how to use it. How to configure the Brackets? Need your help, thank you! :)
