Do smart lists pull names from the marketo database or sfdc? OR, do they pull from both? Would love some clarity on this!

Hi!Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that Marketo tracks opens based on images loading (html).So is there no way to track the text only emails? I sent a batch yseterday and they have 0 opens, is this why?

Hi All, Quick Question. I am creating individual programs for all the whitepapers that my organization has to offer and I will be adding them (on a program basis) to an engagement nurture. My question is....is it a best practice to nest these programs inside of the engagement nurture? Or should these individual whitepaper programs live indepentently and outside of the engagement nurture? Maybe there isn't one right way - but I would love to hear how people are doing this! If I push an email out to a static list, will the names sync into SFDC? OR, will they only sync if I include the "sync lead to sfdc" flow step?

Hi, We have implemented a SSL certificate about 1 month ago. I have noticed that all our landing page names have switched to https but not our picture urls. I have now the case of a picture which is showing up ok on my desktop and on IE but blurry on firefox. If I add a "s" to url, the picture is showing up ok. Does anybody have same issue? Do you know how we can fix this? by forcing the creation of https:// urls? should I contact support?   Cécile @ Talend

Hello,I am currently looking for the best way to blacklist leads who belong to my client's company to avoid sending inappropriate sales mail to them.I reviewed this article(Finding Competitors:http://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000Kypm), it seems like we have to input company names to the textarea. I understand I can put several company names splitted by comma, but I don't know if it works for hundred of company names.(I don't think so)Since we have hundred of companies to block, it would be great if we can find out a lead has the same company name as one in our "block company name list", we're going to create.I'd really appreciate if you could give me any solution or idea.Thank you for your time.

I am having trouble finding/selecting the link to track on a landing page in a marketing activity program. It feels like this is one of those with an easy answer—I keep running up against a wall with this one so your help is much appreciated.I've created a program with a landing page. Visitors to the landing page can either click on a link or fill out a form. I'd like to create a smart list for those who "clicks link". In the set up for the smart list I cannot find or add the link on the landing page. How can I add / find / or select the link from the landing page? Thanks for the help.

What are the best refresher courses for a former Marketo user returning to the application after an 18 month hiatus from it?

I'm new to Marketo and soaking up lots if info. My area of specialty used to be coding HTML email templates where we typically use tables to give structure to HTML content instead of DIV's because not all email clients play nice with CSS.I've noticed in video tutorials on how to create your own email templates, you can define areas that will become editable in the Design Studio editor using Marketo's editable template language - basically assigning classes and ID's to them...but all the examples use DIV's to organize content instead of tables.As new Marketo users, it would be nice to re-purpose some of current branded templates for consistency, and because they have "high production value" to our management, but they've all been coded with tables and not divisions (DIV's).Does anyone know if we are able to define editable areas in an HTML email template that uses tables instead of DIV's?Any feedback from more experienced users would be greatly appreciated!   

If there is a form field that is not available on the list within the form builder, is there a way to add more?

I've worked on projects where there was some javascript that went in the Head section that allowed you to specify a single field on a form that would NOT pre-pop. We found it very useful when people were registering for webinars and wanted to change the date of the registration or register for multiple dates. Now that I'm at a new gig, I can't find this code anywhere in the Community. Help?

I know that it takes upto 2 days for attendees status to be poipulated in marketo after a webex webcast, but how long does it take before you can see registrations through marketo in webex?I thought that was pretty quick, but it has been a couple of hrs and I still do not see any of my test registrations in webex.Thanks,RM 

So we have a smart campaign referencing two different lists with a "or" filter. Will this lead recieve two emails because they are on two lists?Thanks,JayF

I'm looking to put together a definitive list of operation emails for our internal manual, and I was hoping you guys could help to ensure I haven't missed any?Company news emails (example: a non-marketing email letting existing customers know the team have recently participated in a charity event)Accounts emails (example: an email with an invoice attached for an existing customer)Update emails (example: an email detailing a change of address or new telephone number)Would it also be fair to say that operational emails are only sent to existing clients?

I have gotten these off an on for months when trying to pull smart lists, run reports. Recently, I have gotten alot more and sometimes it seems to help if I refresh my browser.  This "marketo error" pop-ups states that the error message has been sent to Marketo.  What happens to these, and how can I find out what is causing them.  Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi community--I am using revenue modeler for the first time in a while and could use some refreshing.We have Anonymous-->Inquiry-->MQL-->SAL as part of our model. The transition rule from MQL-->SAL is simply a trigger that looks for Data Value Changes "Lead Status = SAL".My questions is whether the lead must be in the MQL stage in order for it to move to the SAL stage. For example, can the lead go from Anonymous or Inquiry stage to SAL stage without having ever been in the MQL stage?Thanks,Hoi

When creating custom filters for lead activity logs do other users have access to them?  If not by default, is there a way to allow this?Thanks

I must be missing something. How do you take a Smartlist that you've built for appropriate segmentation and add those contacts to the program's memebership? Exporting and importing is not efficient. For some programs, changing the status does not work either as the correct status doesn't exist. We have nice "Add to Engagement Program" functions but not to regular programs. I'm probably making this harder than it is, but am stumped on how to do it.Anyone have advice? Thanks.

Hi Guys,I recently ran a campaign recently with a much higher percentage of people who have clicked thecorrect link in the email but not gone on to being tracked as having hit the web page.I understand that there are many reasons for this including private browsing, cookies disabled, clicking the link but not actually going to the page, java disabled and I do understand that this campaign was targetting more techy people who are more likely to meet these criteria.I'm curious if anyone has recommendations about how to improve our knowledge of why this specific campaign had such a high rate in comparison to others?Warm regards,Nora Slattery

I have leads that have negative lead scores because of no activity over a period of time.  They accrue -5 points for each month with no activity.  Can anyone advise how to reset the lead score to zero if they come back to the site again after a period of time and have a lot of activity? Or a best practice? I am finding that if a lead has -30 points, for example, that it takes forever for the lead to reach marketing qualified (45 points) even though they have a lot of recent activity on the site.  Not sure the best way to approach this.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone else have issues copying email copy into the editor?  I typically convert my copy into rich text by copying it into notepad before copying it into Editor.  Is there a more direct way to get this accomplished?

Here is an example scenario of a problem that I am encountering and wondering if anyone has suggestions: 1. John Smith comes to our website and fills out a form with his basic information (first name, last name, email) 2. John Smith gets synced to our Salesforce and gets assigned to Inside Sales 3. The next day John Smith comes back to our website and fills out a progresssive profile form and we capture his company's employee and revenue range. Because the ranges that he provided fit within the ideal prospect of our company, we want to mark the lead as SQL and reassign John Smith to an outside rep. 4. Is it possible to re-assign John Smith thru a flow step in Marketo after the lead has already been created and assigned intially? All my assignment rules in SFDC work, but I cannot seem to get Marketo to reassign the lead twice. Anyone have any suggestions? Attached are some pictures that show my Marketo Logic.
