I was curious how others handle lead sources.We have an instance that has been around for a while and practice was for marketing to make a unique lead source for every campaign which required creating a new lead source in Salesforce every single time.  Between multiple groups and multiple years, a very large amount of lead sources have been created and it just seems messy and not very scalable  to me.I was curious how others have handled this. 

Hello,I created an email with dynamic content and want to test the differing versions of the email based on the segmentations. Is there a way I can send a sample email for each segment rather than it just sending the "default" option?Thanks,Jim

I am very new web developer to Marketo, I searched an found that ReadyTalk is a free service with Marketo in the Admin area but I do not see ReadyTalk listed in my options. How do I activate ReadyTalk to use for Webinars/Event Registration? Is it indeed a free service? Or do I need to pay for a ReadyTalk account as well?

I am prepping for changing our Primary CNAME in the upcoming weeks due to a business acquisition.     In trying to fill out the "ask IT to configure protocols" paragraph provided by Marketo, I know what the landing page domain name will be: info.XX.com, but when I go in to the email section our tracking link is no longer in the form mkto-[a-z][4 digits].com but looks to be replaced with what our current instance is working off of.  Do I give them what it currently says or can i find the old email tracking link that is in the correct form?  And I need a little help with what to put in for the second paragraph in bold below.... - For our tracking links in email, add another DNS entry for the CNAME[emailTrackingCNAME].companydomain.com Any help would be appreciated. Hi everyone,I'm hoping I havent missed something fairly obvious here!I've only recently started using marketo and have been learning about what the previous marketing team did in marketo. I have noticed that for our 'Contact us form' an alert was set up and approved but I cant see who this alert was sent to.Is there a way to see this as I need to add myself to the list of people alerted.Any help would be great!!

Does the Email Opens activity included within the Interesting Moments for SF sync?

I am working to set-up trigger emails that are sent to a user after they fill out a form on our website. The email would contain the ebook, whitepaper or webinar that they registered for. What I can't figure out, is how do I trigger an email based on a form fill-out, when I am using the same global form? This is probably a simple task - but I am new to Marketo.Erin

Hi all, I was wondering whether the Lead Source field can be automated along certain rules.To give an example, say someone clicked through to the website for the first time after searching on google, then I would like the lead source to automaticalyy say "Search." Alternatively, if someone clicked through from an advert with a url containing utm_source=onlineadvert, I would like the lead source to automatically become "Online Advert." I know that the lead source can be filled automatically through a hidden field when someone fills out a form, but often people will click on an advert and visit the website as an anonymous lead, only returning a week later to fill in the form (when they simlpy type the url in) . A form would be unable to capture the fact that they had clicked on the advert previously. I would also like to prevent updates to the lead souce field via field management, so that the lead source is the original lead source, and ensure that this field is sync

So I imported the mobile email template from the program library.  I selected a folder to import to, but I had no idea that this was also going to populate the template section of Design Studio, so now it looks really cluttered there. Is this a new thing that's happening? 

We would like to use some marketo magic to send emails from a different domain (one we own, don't worry) but I don't think this is going to work out very well due to the pre-configured domain in admin settings. If we change the FROM in any email template, i suspect it wil lbe caught in more spam filters than usual if we were to use an alternate domain from the one in settings. Any thoughts? 

Hi all,I'm trying to build a program that will send automated emails to customers 3 months before the end of their contract. My thought on how to do this would be to use Contract Start Date is Today, and then have various campaigns depending upon the value of a Term (in months) field. They would say if Term = 12 months, wait 9 months, send email.The problem is, I have no real access to use Contract Start Date as a trigger/filter, or even as a constraint with a trigger.I have to imagine many companies do some sort of reminders to their customers for their contracts, so I'm not sure if I'm just missing something or if they've had additional custom fields created to allow for this.Thanks

I was wondering whether there is any way to download the opportunity influence analyzer for all opporunities in one go?I know you can download export the data to excel for each individual opportunity. However, when you have 2000 opportunities, to export each of them individually would take some time.Any help/advice would be much appreciated.Thanks! 

Hello all - wondering if anybody's got recommendations for a solution for adding address data to leads. For example, given a company name, being able to add full address data to the record. This would be very helpful in our lead assignment process, without increasing the # of required fields in a form. I've seen this type of thing integrated into forms on web sites, and I know there are options for adding that kind of data separately from the initial form completion - would lvoe to hear others' experience with this. 

I'm setting up my first email program with the new program and channel, but I can't add a smart campaign to my program to define program success. I'm sending an email with a CTA to download a whitepaper, and I need to set up a smart campaign to update leads that download the whitepaper with a success status, score bump, interesting moment, sfdc campaign, etc. Is that doable?Right now when I right click on the program and go to add a smart campaign, I only have the option to add it to a campaign folder, not my program.Any help would be much appreciated. I am not receiving the email alerts for when someone adds a posting to a discussion. Is everyone else receiving them?

I have created a Salesforce Campaign called "Western_Reps" (with 500 members) but Marketo doesn't see it. I have tried Salesforce Campaign Sync under Program Actions but still no luck. The user in Salesforce has been set to "Marketing User" but that doesn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks

Obviously I can subscribe people to Marketo reports by email. But for very good reasons we want reports to be viewable through Salesforce (e.g. for business unit directors or other non-marketers). Is there a way?One of my alternative, but huge workaround would be to email the reports to a server. Through Salesforce create a tab that opens a page on that server and create an interface (with security check) on that page that let's someone browse all the emails (reports).However far better would be if you could publish reports to Sales Insight, like you do for emails. Hey, is there a way to insert spaces between label text and field within a form? My form has the text bound to the field below, and it seems there is no setting available for this. 

Hi everybody,I totally new to using Marketo so please excuse me if this is a very basic question!For a webinar we are consucting in a few weeks I have been asked to create a list of german speaking leads whom we can send an invitation to. In order to do this I created a new smartlist with the relevent countries included. This then returned a list of approximately 2500 leads. However I noticed that some of these have previously had emails sent to them which have bounced. So my question is how can I add another variable to the smartlist to exclude those with bounced emails?Any help is greatly appreciated, Jenny

I need to put Marketo forms on our website and have followed the instructions, but when I got to the "Copy Form HTML" stage, the HTML that I am seeing in source doesn't match the instructions at all. I am not able to identify html from <form> to </form> as the instructions note because I don't even see those fields in my instance. What could be causing this? 

I am setting up my lead scoring and want to select a few key industries to score on. However, in the Multiple Value Chooser  the "Add New Values" drop down doesn't seem to be mapping 100% to the fields we have in Salesforce. It's only pulling a few industries, not the full list. How do I fix this so that the matching is correct and I'm able to see the full list of industries? Note, we are still using all of the default industries in Salesforce and no customization has been done to-date.

Hello, is it possible to set a cadence for a smartlist to only receive an email every seven days, without having to manually pause a nurture stream? For instance, if I have a nurture on a seven day cadence, and I want to send out a webinar invite...I would want for Marketo to pause the next nurture communication for seven days after that webinar invite goes out. Can I do that through a SmartList filter to avoid sending out multiple emails to my db withing the desired time frame?

Hi everybuddy,Our organization is still in the early stages of using Marketo and we came across this question yesterday when we were checking out leads in the database.There are columns listed for each lead for acquisition date, created at, and updated at. What are the differences? I understand that 'created at' (http://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000L3iJCAS) contains the timestamp when the record is first created in the Marketo database (either known or anonymous), but I have no idea how the others are determined.I'd like to be able to pull a monthly lead source list that allows us to see within a certain date range where leads are coming from, but I'm not sure which of these is the best to use the pull the list, or if they will give the most accurate sources.Also - is there a Marketo terminology page anywhere?Thanks so much! :)
