Is it possible to add a date range to the Tracking Indicators Report which comes out of the box with Adobe Campaign?
I was thinking of duplicating this report and then trying to add a date range filter based on date sent for this report but I am not sure if this is possible.

That is the approach that I would explore as well. It is a best practice to duplicate rather than directly modifying the out of the box report, so good for you for thinking of it! The only possible gotcha would be if the report is based on preconfigured aggregates in which case you would need to put the date filters on the aggregator. I am not sure if that is the case or not.
