Adobe Workfront General

Curious how others handle this - always seems to be an issue for us. Let's say the designer (proof owner - the person who loads a proof into proofing workflow) is going on PTO and they have a proof that comes through with changes or gets approved while they are out. How best should this be handled with the person covering for them? Our designers always line up a cover person, so is it best to reassign their tasks on the project and also reassign to the cover person in WF proof on every project ahead of time (or just as the original designer goes on PTO?) We have reports/queues in place for our designers, Changes and Approved so they know which proofs have changes and which are approved and ready to move on. In the past when we've changed to the cover person, the cover person states that the project(s) don't hit their Changes or Approved queue. Are we doing something wrong in WF proof - should ownership be changed on the proof. Just not exactly sure how to do this so it just flows corre

Anyone know if there is a way to easily unarchive a project?

Has anyone seen where a template task has an assignment and planned hours and the planned labor cost is at a $0 even if the assignee has a job role with a cost per hour? It is also not consistent some tasks with the same assignee do have a cost.

We collect specific stakeholders for each project and the team would like to see that info at a glance when looking at a project rather than clicking on the custom form to find the information.  Is there a way to add a custom field to the Project Overview section?

Hi all,I'm getting email notifications saying "This project you are assigned to is now: ACTIVE", but I'm not on the project. I'm a Sys Admin so can see all areas.I've checked the following: Project sharing (people and groups), project sponsor, resource manager, assignments, people area, subscription, program and portfolio sharing, company members. Thanks, Matt

Hi, when an user submits a request, as far as my understanding goes, Workfront can only create an issue or task from that request. Can Workfront accomplish the two below? Can WF create a Project from a Template from that request? Can WF attach a Task Template to an existing Project?

My team is transitioning to use Gantt charts to visualize our project timelines. There are a few visualizations that we'd like but I'm unsure on which date field should I use to populate the Gantt chart.1. Launch date (a vertical line that goes straight down the calendar indicating when the project is going live)2. Start date - project (a date that will determine the start day of all tasks in the project)3. Start day - tasks (start date for tasks will be determined by this start day and start date of project. For e.g. if start date for project is 1st Jan and start day for task is 1, then the start date for task should be 2nd Jan).4. End date - tasks (how long does it take to complete a task - 1 day, 5 days, etc) I understand this might be a complicated question so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I'm creating a collection of Workfront Event Subscriptions to receive events from Workfront. I believe I looked through the documentation thoroughly and couldn't find information about monitoring your event subscriptions for failures and possible solutions for notifications when increased failures occur or a subscription has been disabled. The documentation does say, "Message delivery failure information is logged" but where and how do you access this? Also, can you set any kind of alerts for operational support? If messages are dropped within 48 hours, it important to be notified as soon as possible of errors.Any expertise on this would be much appreciated. Thanks,D

Basically I have a field in a report that requires the text mode. But the output of this text mode is a task status code (e.g. INP)But I'd like the report to show "In Progress" instead.Anyone know how to achieve it?

Hello, I am working to extract tasks data for every projects from WorkFront. Right now i am using URL as  https://*.my.workfront.com/attask/api/v18.0/proj/5b968cc800409468**********/tasks?sessionID=18080283ee86451a************ But unable to get all tasks under this project, could you please help me with the API URL. Thanks,Divya Anand.

Hi All, I had submitted the following to Workfront Support, but they indicated that this type of notification was not possible, but wanted to post the question to the Community to see if anyone has a workaround for this.  1. An individual submits a request to a Request Queue.2. The request is picked up and converted to a task, and the task is then added to a project.3. The task status is changed (whether it be to In Progress or Complete, etc.)4. A notification is sent to the original requestor that the task status has changed. Does anyone have any thoughts as to how the original requestor can be automatically notified (Step 4 above)? Thanks!

Hi all: Hopefully a simple one, but I wanted to vet it with the community experts. We are starting to dabble in planned hours for teams in Workfront, which I support. As part of this, we are also looking at the work schedules, which default to 8 hours. We actually do a 7-hour workday, so the ask was to make the schedule 7 hours so the planned hours are more aligned with our actual experience. Makes sense to do so, but I'm trying to see if there's a ripple effect I can't predict. My asks is if moving the calendar from an 8-hour work day to a 7-hour one... For a task with a duration of say 1.5 days, Is Workfront smart enough to say "this equates to halfway through the following workday" regardless of what said workday is? Or put another way, would a project schedule with a 8.5 day project planned duration still dynamically calculate 8.5 days out from actual project start date?My guess is the answer is "yes" but I wanted to validate with those that have changed th

I have a team that work through thousands of requests a week. They can see them in the Team Request area so they are there to pick up and work on. What I don't want is several thousands of notifications in the top right. It makes it extremely difficult to spot a notification if it comes from an update etc. I can turn the email notifications off for "Work Item Request to Team" but it doesn't disable the system notifications in the browser. Does anyone know how to do this?

Is there any way to retrieve a specific report using the API ? Is there a way to download the report using the API in XLSX or CSV format? Appreciate if you can share the snippet of the sample code that downloads the report using the API. Thank youJay

I'm attempting to rebuild templates that I created within my sandbox environment but when I build them in prod the total project duration is completely off. I've included a screenshot below of the template I'm trying to recreate.  As you can see the development & review summary task says the steps will take 60 days in the sandbox but the same template with all the same tasks, durations, task constraints, and predecessors is saying it will take 112 days in production.  Would love to know if anyone has seen issues like this before! I've submitted a support ticket but they haven't responded to any of my emails : P. I'll close this question and include the solution if support is able to figure out what is going on before we can!

My team needs to see from the project task view easily who the primary assignment is on tasks with multiple assignees. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to best do that? I'm able to show a column that shows the primary assignment ID but was surprised to see there wasn't a way to show the primary assignment by name, I don't expect anyone to memorize the 30-digit ID number for every user in the system.

We would like to be able to give a freelancer basic access to specific projects so they can use our workflow without needing an intermediator, but I'm looking for a way to do this without having to buy extra Work licenses. I *have* to believe Workfront has this available and I just haven't stumbled on the solution yet, since it was created with collaboration in mind. What we're looking for is a way to assign tasks and issues to freelancers (external users). They wouldn't need access to anything else-just the project(s) they're being assigned work under. People like freelancer designers, copywriters, developers. If anyone has insight/advice on how to set this up it would be greatly appreciated. Or maybe share how your organization handles these users? We'd rather not have to buy additional Work licenses for freelancers since they come and go so often, it would be an unnecessary cost for a temporary situation. Thanks in advance for any help! Does anyone know why this feature was taken away now that our system was merged with the Adobe Experience Cloud. My department really enjoyed the fact that we could customizing the branding to our company.I tried adjusting this in the Layout Template but that didn't work.

I'm using this text mode to see the actual completion date of the Strategy task, but the task is a parent task and it's not pulling in. Is there a different label to pull in parent tasks?  displayname=Strategy Complistdelimiter=<p>listmethod=nested(tasks).liststextmode=truetype=iteratevalueexpression=IF({name}="Strategy",CONCAT({actualCompletionDate}))valueformat=HTML

I'm working on a dashboard with a series of task reports.  I would like to color code each row (the entire row) based off of the Progress Status.  Late = red, At Risk/Behind = yellow.  I also don't want the Progress Status column to actually show up on the report.I've tried switching the Column view to text mode and addingtextmode=trueusewidths=truewidth=0but it doesn't work.  I also tried the same but with width=1 and it doesn't work.  I was able to make the column disappear once, but my conditional formatting of the entire row went with it.  Is there a way to hide a column that is being used to conditionally format the entire row?  Thank you!

I'm curious what budgeting/expense software you all may be using to automatically feed budgets, invoices, expenses into Workfront with. Our expenses software is SAP Concur. We are trying to avoid making Workfront a system of record for the costs associated with a project since that information should be in our Accounts Payable area already. Thanks for any input! Adrianne

I would like to create a task report grouped by week showing all tasks that should be in progress that week. It should include tasks with planned start dates that fall before the grouping week and planned completion tasks that fall after the grouping week. Many tasks should appear multiple times if they span multiple weeks. It seems like it should be possible. Has anyone done that before?

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me with this.  I have a task-based email calendar report to show when an email is scheduled to be sent. The send date task is connected by a predecessor to the design approval task.  I'm researching whether using text mode the field on the report can change color based on the status of the predecessor task.  For example, If incomplete the color is greenIf complete the color is red. Has anyone created anything similar?  I'm not great using text mode so any help is appreciated.  thank you  Peggy

I was wondering if there was a way to lock a project after it has been completed so no one can leave comments (unless the admin resurrects it?). We have had a couple of completed projects that people have gone and left comments on thinking it would reopen the project, but we don't get any email updates on these projects since they are completed in the system and never knew the person left comments.
