Hello Experts,

Could any one have idea to create text mode to collect "Entered By Name" while creating view in Set up area and Expense Type customization?

Please refer attachment.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kundan - looking at the API explorer, it seems that Entered By ID is not captured on that object. I don't think you will be able to show that info if it isn't captured somewhere in the database.

I concur, Anthony; the only avenue I can suggest would be search for the earliest occurrence of an Expense that used that particular Expense Type, and -- presuming the person who entered that Expense requested the Expense Type -- track down that person to get the Origin Story.

That said, a WORD OF CAUTION...

A couple of years ago I helped a client with a Workfront Merge/Split who (we discovered during the process) had DELETED AN EXPENSE TYPE THAT WAS IN USE at some point prior to my arrival, with DISASTEROUS RESULTS to their historic hours and time sheet functionality.

It is possible that since that time Workfront has now added referential integrity to prevent such a deletion (untested), but the short answer is: DO NOT DELETE EXPENSE TYPES THAT WERE IN USE.

Hmm....which I'm glad I've just reminded myself, in fact, as I have a call tomorrow with another client who's considering doing just that. Gulp.

Regards,

Doug

Thanks a lot @Doug Den Hoed‚

You are right, we must be always keep on eyes about your recommendation.

At least some option must be approved before deleting from the system.

Have a nice day!
