Sorting by a date in a report

I have a very simple Request Report that includes Actual Completion Date as a column, with sorting on that column. No matter if I choose ascending or descending, it will not sort with the latest completion dates on the top. Is this a glitch or is there some other thing I don't know about? Thanks!

Hey Jill - were you able to get this resolved? I know @Samantha Isin‚ just posted something about sorting in a report... are those two related at all?

No I'm still having all sorts of problems sorting by dates in various reports and I haven't had time to try to figure it out more.
