Retain Sorting and Groupings between sessions

Currently, Workfront frequently resets the Sort and Grouping orders to defaults in My Work. Support have advised that this resets each time a browser session ends.

In general, this is annoying for users, and it's worse for us because it defaults to sort by Commit Date, which we don't use at all. The result is that this confuses the heck out of users as to the order their tasks are due. Half of them don't even realise that they are using the wrong sort order, and so they just think that Workfront is buggy/disorganised.

We really need a user-configurable option for sorting and grouping that persists between sessions.

One addition to this - I wish we could set the default sorting and groupings for My Work via Layout Templates.

Worst case, once a user set their sorting - it should remain forever set, until they select to modify it.

Tacking on to this issue with something kind of relevant

We have a custom field "My priority" in My Work -> Working On which was intended to be used to communicate on the fly priority changes but ultimately when you sort by this it only sorts alphabetically - you can never get urgent to be on the top of the stack.

My Work can be frustrating for our users also, it's hard to encourage adoption of best practices and procedures when you're undermined by broken functionality

Hi Richard - is the custom field a number field? If it is set as a text field then that sorting issue would be normal of course...just double-checking.

David, its in the layout template -> customize my work -> when a person with this template looks at: working on: tasks -> add field

It's "Project Priority" not sure how to know if its numerical or text, it's a built in status (I think)

I would propose that Workfront enhance the My Work page to maintain the preferences of the user. I set Grouping for this page to ‚ÄòProjects’. It gives it a similar look and feel to the Timesheet but I prefer this page over the Timesheet most of the time. It seems that at least a couple of times a week when logging into Workfront my preferences for this page are reset to what likely is the default, Commit Date. This grouping is not effective for me.
