Reporting on tasks when users down't have access to tasks

Hi,

as a business we have decided NOT to allow our stakeholders to have access to the tasks in projects - so I've removed that in the access controls.

I was hoping to be able to show them certain task fields in a bespoke report though - but the report doesn't show anything.

The report is definitely correct - so i assume the access control settings restrict what the report shows them for tasks.

Can anyone confirm that is correct - or found another way to do this.

I am adding a custom form to the tasks we want to show them, and triggering off a field in that to show certain task fields in the report.

Thanks

Hi,

I asked too quickly.....  as I'f found a solution.

Use the   'Run this report with the Access Rights of:'  optin in the Report Settings.

Setting that to me - shows anyone the tasks I need

Hi,

You're correct, if you have removed a users ability to view tasks in their access level, they will also lose access to task information displayed in reports.

An approach you could take would be to set the report to run with the access rights of an admin (Edit Report >> Report settings >> Run this report with the access rights of). When you do this, anyone viewing the report will see the data as if it was an admin looking at it. You can read more on this here.

Best Regards,

Rich.
