Planned hour adjustments

We use parent tasks as our agile stories on our Kanban, which results in child tasks being assigned to team members for each story so they can track their work and "what comes next". This has created a challenge for our project managers when adjusting hours per story, since they're spread out across 2-3 tasks rather than just 1. Has anyone ran into a similar issue or have any solutions to make hours easily updatable?
