Improve the Business Case functionality & export

The business case automatically picks up any custom form already attached to a project, which is then automatically added to the exported business case (pdf). We have custom forms attached to all project templates, but the information contained in these forms shouldn’t necessarily be included in a business case.

Whilst I have seen there’s an option to remove a custom form in the business case view, this though removes the custom form from the project, along with any data already present, which isn’t great.

We have a unique custom form created for the business case fields we need that aren’t already part of the standard Workfront build, but we would need the ability to remove any other custom form from being included in the business case export, but without removing it from the project entirely and the data already present.

Without this functionality we will have to resort back to a Word based business case template, which would need to be attached to each project in Workfront, which isn’t ideal considering the good functionality and options already present in Workfront.

We would also like the exported business case to include our company branding, and if possible, editable, so an option other than export to .pdf would be great.

Completely agree with Danny! We greatly need the ability to select/customize the data output for the Business Case. There is a wealth of information available in the Business Case and our custom forms however, we are limited in the order information is presented in the Business Case and it doesn't export to a consumable format for presentation. Without the ability to modify the Business Case export, we will need to continue using .PPT's to present the information resulting in duplication of effort for our management team.

This would be great! For us the export business case to word or excel would be extremely beneficial.

We have many ideas for this!

I would like to extend the request and add the ability to mandate a custom form when filling out the business case, much like is done currently with templates.

Additionally, it would be nice to re-order the information in the business case. Some of the custom form information is very important and would be nice to see more up front, instead of at the end. Therefore, if we could re-order to business case components for the export, that would be ideal.

As Daniel stated, using the Client branding instead of Workfront branding is super important!!

There is a very good chance that the customization you are looking for in the Business Case export could actually be solved by the new Export Custom Forms feature that is coming soon! More information here: https://one.workfront.com/s/idea/0870z000000PSUjAAO/detail

It would be great to include our company branding on the Business Case export.

I agree! It would be great to be able to customize the business case by adding our Company or Group's logo to the business case either by default or upload it directly on the business case.

I would also like to include the enhancement of adding rich text formatting to the business case area.

We add multiple custom forms to the Business Case that are used at various stages throughout the change management lifecycle of a project (concept, risk consideration, project request with all the reviews and approvals, vendor management, project implementation, performance monitoring).

It would be nice to either print all of the Business Case custom forms starting on a new PDF page or, ideally, if the user could select which custom forms they want printed at any given time. We don't want empty custom forms printing when the forms aren't needed yet and currently, custom forms print immediately following each other with no page breaks so you can't easily delete complete forms from the PDF.
