I need to be able to report on all activities happening in Workfront.

I need exception reports and monitoring tool to identify when certain things are changed on the project or other objects. I can see changes on the updates stream but not able to run a report on that information.

I'm hoping this would be some sort of logs with timestamps? This would allow admins like me to be able to tell whether a dashboard/report is useful is there is a lot of usage on it and allow us to clean up which ones are not. Hopefully, this logging will also help us troubleshoot issues from our users - the more verbose, the better.

I also hope this includes anything that happens in the Setup pages. There was an incident a while back where one of the SysAdmins inadvertently deleted the milestone paths and we didn't really catch it until two weeks after. It was PAINFUL to go back in and update those projects.

Basically, anything in the 'updates' tab for projects, tasks, issues or documents should be in the 'NOTES' reports. Then it can be filtered, sorted etc.

Agreed. I need to track changes to custom budget fields that we've added and because they're not showing in the Audit Text field, I have to manually check the Update Stream of all projects on a scheduled basis.

Hmmm. Came across this on the support site:

https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000934534-Report-to-see-Old-Updates

It implies ALL updates are in the 'Notes' report. Sadly, I think this is probably outdated rather than planned new functionality.

I agree with this request & would even like to expand the request. We really need logging on all objects and also on exactly what a user is doing once they log in.

We need the ability to keep our systems up to date. Right now, I can't tell how often a report or dashboard is used - so I am not able to clean up items. (Even with Filters, Views, Groups -- I can't tell how often they are used, or not used.)

We would like to know who & when someone accesses items - a report, a project, a portfolio.

To push adoption, I need to know what a user is doing when they access. When a user logs in, what are they doing & when. I want more than just last log-in date. ex; I need to know if a user is only logging in once a week to log time on a timesheet, or are they using the application all week.

I also suggest this for systems administration changes. Portfolios get deleted and objects get renamed - nobody knows who did it when multiple systems administrators are around.

I def like this....we have a few admins who do not work in the minutia of custom forms and routing - portfolio building etc and have ability to make bad things happen.

I currently have views (just added custom columns) that allows me to see who has viewed what report and how many times - this month/quarter/year and what dashboards they are being used on. I can also see what forms use what templates.....so being able to see even more would be very helpful.

Hey, all,

Management by exception and status reporting are areas we are tackling in product. We're currently in the research phase and would like to understand the details of this request further before providing definitive response. We may reach out to you to schedule a short call.

Thanks!
