Hyperlink to local network folders (not just cloud based applications)

I would like to add hyperlinks to layout templates or a Dashboard that centralizes the various applications used by employees. add hyperlinks to various local network folders and company wide intranet sites onto the my work home page and/or add to a dashboard. It'd be cool to have some customization of the link in the form of 'buttons' or icons, rather then just an 'file address' or text.
