Check Box Field management

There are a couple things about custom check box field that can become frustrating:
1) you can't sort by them
2) if you have more than one check box option (let's say three options entered/sorted alphabetically on the field details: A, B, C) the system records them in the order they are selected, e.g. A-B-C or A-C-B or C-B-A rather than the order they exist on the field. This further compounds the ability to sort even when exporting to excel.

Request:
1) make views/reports sortable by the items in the check box field
2) track the checked boxes in the order they exist on the field details rather than the order in which they were checked
