Add capability to add metadata to objects

Add the ability to add customized metadata to objects. For example, it would be great if we could add fields like Version, Client, or Deprecation Date at object creation. As a stop-gap, we often create ridiculous names or cluttered descriptions which do not present well. Reports and Dashboards are the most obvious objects, but we would prefer the option to attach it to any object.
